Skirt no Naka wa Kedamono Deshita. – Episode 9 (ES)

A casual conversation plants an idea: Ryou would like to eat something Shizuka made. She takes it more seriously than he may have expected. She shows up with homemade sweets, braced for embarrassment. Ryou does the opposite of cool. He lights up, fusses, and celebrates the gift like it is bigger than dessert.

His joy flusters her. In the middle of that fluster she drops the sweets onto her lap. The mess should be comic. In this series, a stain on a skirt is never only a stain. Ryou’s line — that it is a waste, that she has to keep things nice and clean — slides from housekeeping into something far less innocent.

The episode is domestic on the way in and erotic on the way out. Cooking for him is Shizuka trying to be a girlfriend instead of a target. Dropping the sweets gives Ryou an excuse to hover, scold, and touch. Affection and appetite occupy the same small space, which is exactly how this couple works.
