Skirt no Naka wa Kedamono Deshita. – Episode 5 (ES)

Running from Ryou’s fans, the two of them duck into a hotel. The locked room should be a pause. Instead it becomes the place where Ryou’s “I like you” has to be dealt with. Shizuka is rattled by the word. She does not know if she can accept it, return it, or even admit that her body already answers him.

Ryou apologizes for being selfish, then keeps talking anyway. He tells her he would not chase her this hard if he were not serious. Obsession, in his mouth, is proof. Shizuka cannot map that logic onto her own chest. She knows she is overwhelmed. She does not know if the heat is love, fear, or both.

The hotel episode is the series leaning on its central conflict: Ryou’s hunger looks like devotion to him and like pressure to her. He will not pretend he is casual. She will not pretend she understands herself. Between an apology and another confession, they stay in a room that makes it almost impossible to walk out on the feeling.
