第8話「またデートしてほしいな」
Time with Ryou has changed the temperature of Shizuka’s thoughts. She notices him now — not only as the person who shocked her, but as someone her eyes follow. The feeling is new and it scares her. She has no script for wanting a man, especially this man.
After they leave the Ferris wheel she stops him. She does not have a polished speech. She only knows she cannot let the day end as if nothing shifted inside her. The title of the episode is Ryou’s wish, but the scene belongs to Shizuka’s first attempt to act instead of only being acted on.
What she wants is not as clear as what he wants. She wants another date. She wants the confusion to make sense. She wants him to stay where she can see him until she understands the ache in her chest. For a girl who once could not survive a mixer, calling after someone is a kind of bravery. The amusement park is behind them. The relationship is not.
