Hitozukiai ga Nigate na Miboujin no Yukionna-san to Noroi no Yubiwa
人付き合いが苦手な未亡人の雪女さんと呪いの指輪
Synonyms: The Shy Snow Woman and the Cursed Ring
Synopsis
Satoru Takahashi inherits Yoyogi Heights after his father’s death: a quiet rental building reserved for yokai. He is human, young, and already half in love with one tenant—Mifuyu Yukino, a snow woman who lost her husband two years ago. She is beautiful, cold in every sense, and almost unable to deal with other people. She cools wounds with her breath and freezes the floor when she wants someone to stop moving. She also avoids almost every conversation that is not strictly necessary.
Satoru makes a clumsy mistake and earns her anger. Looking for a way to apologize, he finds a ring among his father’s things. The claim on it is simple: it makes talking to yokai easy. He puts it on.
The ring does not open a polite dialogue. Mifuyu’s distance collapses. The widow who could barely look at him becomes insistent, physical, and impossible to refuse. Night after night the curse pulls their bodies together while Satoru tries to tell himself he only wanted to help her. Mifuyu, who once kept the world at arm’s length, now has to live with desire she did not choose and a human who will not leave.
What waits at the end of those nights—love, dependence, or something the ring will not let go—is the question the series keeps asking.
