Kujou’s mother suggests they bathe together. In a temple household the idea is offered like hospitality. For Mio it is a trap with steam in it. She tries to keep the bath on the safe side of the line they already crossed—talk, distance, a towel, anything that lets her pretend this is still a performance.
Takahide does not treat it as a joke. He asks her to show more of herself and refuses the idea that he touched her thoughtlessly. The night at her apartment, the engagement lie, the shared room: none of it was an accident he can laugh off in the morning. Mio wants rules. He wants her looking at him while the water hides nothing.
Episode 5 pushes the romance from nighttime secrecy into the ordinary rituals of the house. A bath is supposed to be clean. Here it becomes another place where Mio’s caution loses to the man who planned this closer than she wants to admit. By the time they leave the water, the “fiancée” story is no longer only for his parents. It is the shape of their days.
