Vampire Vixen Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary
The popular adult comedy anime Vampire Vixen (Itadaki! Seieki) celebrates its 10th anniversary today.
Origin
The adult anime is based on several stories from Itadaki! Seieki♥, a hentai manga by artist Doumou. This story was published on January 30, 2011 in Comic Unreal magazine.
The Pashmina label released its first and only animated episode on March 28, 2014.
Story
A male student named Kanzaki receives an anonymous love letter from a secret admirer who wants to hook up with him. He’s not sure what to expect on his first rendezvous but he would have never guessed to be greeted with a swift kick to the face! Meet Mari Setagoya, a sexy, confused and ravenously hungry succubus/vampire hybrid. After sucking some of his blood, Mari confesses to Kanzaki that she never truly acquired a taste for the red stuff. Since she is required to feed on bodily fluids for sustenance, they mutually agree on an alternative substance that Kanzaki is more than happy to supply!

In comparison to Mou Hasamazu ni wa Irarenai, another hentai from the same label released the same year, Vampire Vixen received positive reception in Japan.
In overseas markets, Vampire Vixen became one of the most popular hentai of the last decade. Its great success was due to Mari captivating the community with her character design and cute yet humorous personality, coupled with its uncensored version which made the hentai more widely known worldwide.
