Origin
The hentai is based on Enbo, an adult manga by artist Miyabi Tsuzuru, which began serialization in Comic Dolphin magazine on December 2, 1998.
Milky Animation Label and animation studio Big Wing released its first animated episode on November 25, 2003. The iconic hentai consists of six episodes and concluded on November 25, 2005.
On August 30, 2005, U.S. distributor JapanAnime released ‘Taboo Charming Mother‘, an uncensored version of Enbo.
Story
Kazuhiko’s father has just recently married a beautiful young woman named Misako and he dreams of his new mother all the time. While Yosuke, his father has remained cool to her and her needs, Misako has been getting lewd calls and gifts of sex toys from that same person. Soon, unable to hold herself back, Misako finds herself trapped within Kazuhiko’s power and willingly places all of her physical needs in his care. But Kazuhiko is not satisfied with just his step-mother. He has also set his eyes on Emiko, Misako’s little sister. In an unforgivable secret triangular relationship, it is a secret that must be hidden from Yosuke or the cost will tear the family apart.

Enbo received a positive reception in Japan; however, the exact sales figures remain unknown due to a lack of available information and the passage of years. Overseas, the series gained incredible popularity due to its provocative plot. Despite its animation being outdated by current standards, Enbo’s popularity has hardly diminished over the years.
Due to its significant popularity abroad and its impact on an entire generation, Taboo Charming Mother is considered a cult series and one of the best anime of all time.

Enbo was directed by directors Kan Fukumoto (Kiyomu Fukuda) and Shigeki Awai.
The Enbo’s ending music is called ‘Okinawa‘ and was composed by Mats Björklund.
On September 25, 2006, a special version of Enbo titled ‘Enbo The Best‘ was released, compiling all the episodes of the series into a 2-hour edition.
The voice actress for Misako was Nagisa Futami, who also stood out for her role as Hiroko Takashiro in Bible Black. On the other hand, actress Yuu Mikage played the role of Emiko, being recognized for her outstanding performance as Ren Nanase in the controversial series Yakin Byoutou.
