Ep 7. Under the light of the fireworks
Having successfully diverted the gossip magazine's pursuit, Shōji takes his daughter Kana and meets Minami for their long-planned fireworks festival date. The trio enjoys strolling through lively food stalls and games, but when Kana runs into her preschool friends, she begs to join them. Thoughtful parents offer to watch Kana, giving Shōji and Minami a rare chance to be alone together amid the festival crowds. They wander to a quiet, less crowded shrine where they light traditional senko-hanabi (sparkler fireworks). As the delicate sparks flicker and illuminate Minami's gentle features in a warm, ethereal glow, Shōji is overwhelmed by how beautiful she looks—her soft smile, sparkling eyes, and the way the light dances across her yukata. The intimate setting and shared relief from recent dangers deepen their emotions. Unable to hold back, Shōji quietly leans in and kisses her tenderly, a sweet, lingering moment filled with love and gratitude. The gentle pops of the sparklers and distant festival sounds create a perfect, private bubble of romance. As larger fireworks begin to explode overhead, the couple savors their reunion, reaffirming their bond in the magical summer night—yet always aware that their happiness remains fragile and secret.
