Mori no Kuma-san, Toumin-chuu. – Episode 9 (ES)

Episode Description

Ep 9. When you want to become lovers…

While quietly carrying out his "Nowa's Trauma Eradication Plan," Airi visits the forest library and meets Kuro, a knowledgeable and slightly enigmatic crow librarian. Airi earnestly asks Kuro for "a certain item"—an old, cherished keepsake or symbolic token from Nowa's past that might help reopen and soothe the bear's buried wounds. Kuro, moved by Airi's genuine devotion, agrees to help retrieve or recreate the meaningful object.

Meanwhile, Nowa senses Airi's subtle efforts and growing determination. The gentle gestures, extra attentiveness, and reassuring presence slowly chip away at the walls of guilt and fear Nowa has carried for years. One peaceful evening under the stars, Airi presents the special item—a faded photograph or memento of Nowa's lost companion—along with a heartfelt letter he wrote himself. He confesses everything: how much he loves Nowa, how he wants to protect and cherish him not as a child, but as an equal partner and lover for life.

Overwhelmed with emotion, Nowa finally allows himself to grieve openly, then accepts Airi's feelings completely. Tears mix with smiles as Nowa embraces Airi tightly, whispering that he too wants to be lovers—free from the shadows of the past. The episode ends with their first true, passionate kiss as official mates, sealing a bond that has grown from nurturing care into deep, romantic love amid the gentle forest night.
