Trick or Alice – Episode 1 (EN): Torikku Oa Arisu Dai-ichi-wa “Okaeri, Boku no Arisu.”

It is a peaceful summer afternoon, and high-school student Arisa Minase can hardly contain her excitement. Tomorrow is her birthday, and she expects to spend it happily with the person she loves most—her older brother Shizuku. As the two share a small cake and the clock reaches midnight, the floor suddenly vanishes beneath her. When she regains consciousness she is no longer in her own world. A figure wearing black rabbit ears, identical in appearance to Shizuku, stands before her and softly says, “It’s time, Alice.” Arisa has been transported to Wonderland, a place where her everyday knowledge is useless and every resident looks like someone she knows. They all call her Alice, claim she has finally come home, and treat her as the girl they have been missing. No matter how many times she insists “I am Arisa, not Alice,” they refuse to accept her real name. Determined to escape the endless loop of the same day, Arisa begins searching for the genuine Alice. What she discovers at the end of that search, however, is far more complicated than a simple way home. This single-episode OVA, directed by Shishido Akie and produced by An DerCen, faithfully opens the story of the original visual novel with gentle wonder, quiet emotional tension, and the first steps into a world that both welcomes and traps its heroine.
