Trick or Alice

Arisa Minase is a bright, gentle high-school girl who lives happily with her parents and older brother Shizuku, the person she cherishes most. On the night before her birthday she shares a small cake with him, heart full of anticipation. At the exact stroke of midnight the ground opens and she is pulled into Wonderland—a fairy-tale realm that endlessly repeats the same day. There the inhabitants, each bearing an uncanny resemblance to people from her ordinary life, greet her as the long-lost Alice and express relief at her return. Arisa protests that she is not Alice, yet no one will accept her true identity. Guided by the mysterious Black Rabbit (who looks exactly like her brother), the flamboyant Cheshire Cat, the lazy dormouse Round, and the twin brothers Light and Shadow, she begins searching for the real Alice in hopes of shattering the time loop and returning home. As the day restarts again and again, the line between memory, affection, and destiny blurs. Produced by An DerCen from the little cheese visual novel, Trick or Alice is a compact, atmospheric otome fantasy OVA that explores identity, belonging, and the quiet ache of a world that refuses to let its Alice go.
